ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR IN UPSEE-2012 FOR ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR OF B.TECH. / B.PHARM. / B.ARCH. / BHMCT / BFAD
(i) The subject combination required in the qualifying examination (intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent) for admission to first year of different courses shall be as under:-


Course=Compulsory Subjects=Anyone of the following Subjects
B. Tech. =Physics & Mathematics =Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Biology
B. Tech.(Bio-Technology)=(i) Physics & (ii)Mathematics OR Biology=Chemistry, Bio-Technology
B. Pharm =Physics & Chemistry=Mathematics Bio-Technology, Biology
B. Arch.=Mathematics & Physics=Chemistry, Computer Science, Biology, Engineering Drawing
B.Tech. (Agriculture Engg.)=Agriculture discipline. *
BHMCT / BFAD=Any discipline.

(ii) For admission to first year of B. Tech. / B. Pharm., candidate must have clearly passed without grace, intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University; securing minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST Category candidates) without grace in required subject combination of two compulsory subjects and one optional subject taken together as given in clause 3.1 (i).
(iii) For admission to first year of BHMCT/BFAD, candidate must have clearly passed without grace, intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University; securing minimum 45% marks without grace (40% marks for SC/ST category candidates) in aggregate.
(iv) For admission to first year of B. Arch., a candidate must have clearly passed without grace, intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10 + 2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University; securing (i) minimum 50% marks in aggregate and (ii) clearly passed without grace, each compulsory and optional subjects taken together as given in clause 3.1(i).
A candidate possessing three years Diploma in Architecture (10+3) recognized by Central / State Govt., is also eligible for admission to first year of B. Arch. only, provided the candidate has passed the Diploma examination securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Such candidates will have to appear in the entrance examination for first year of B. Arch. Paper 4 (clause 4.3).
(v)* All candidates who are eligible for admission in B.Tech. Courses are also eligible for B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering)

ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR IN UPSEE-2012 FOR ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR OF MBA / MCA
Please note that this examination brochure is not applicable to the admission for first year in MBA/MCA course. The examination for MBA & MCA will be conducted ONLINE (Computer based test). All applicants seeking admission to the first year course of MBA / MCA are required to submit online application only.

ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR IN UPSEE-2012 FOR ADMISSION TO SECOND YEAR (LATERAL ENTRY) OF B. TECH. / B. PHARM.
(i) Direct Admission (lateral entry) in second year of B. Arch. / BHMCT / BFAD courses is not permissible.
(ii) Lateral entry in ‘B.Tech. for Engg. Diploma holders or B.Sc. Graduates and passed XII standard with Mathematics as one of the subject’ / ‘B.Pharm. for Diploma holders’ in third semester (second year), is open only in the institutions affiliated to GBTU, Lucknow and M.T.U., Noida.
(iii) Candidates who have passed ‘three years Engg. Diploma from an Institution located in U.P. with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) OR ‘whose parents (Father or mother) are domicile of Uttar Pradesh’ and he/she has passed three years Engg. Diploma with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) recognized by the Board of Technical Education, U.P., in any branch of Engineering (except
Agriculture Engg., Pharmacy and Architecture), are eligible for admission to Second year in any
branch of Engineering / Technology.
(iv) Candidates who have passed ‘three years Diploma in Agriculture Engg. from an Institution located in U.P. with minimum 45% marks(40% for SC/ST)’ OR ‘whose parents (Father or mother) are domicile of U.P.’ and he/she has passed three years Diploma in Agriculture Engg. with minimum 45% marks(40% for SC/ST) recognized by the Board of Technical Education, U.P., are eligible for admission to Second year of Agriculture Engg. Branch only.
(v) Candidates who have passed ‘three years B.Sc. degree and passed XII standard with mathematics’ as one of the subject from any recognized University; securing minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate, are also eligible for admission to second year in any branch of Engineering / Technology.
(vi) Candidates who have passed ‘2/3 years Diploma in Pharmacy from an Institution located in U.P. with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST)’ OR ‘whose parents are domicile of U.P.’ and he/she has passed 2/3 years Diploma in Pharmacy with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) recognized by the Board of Technical Education, U.P., are eligible for admission to second year of B.Pharm.only.

MODE OF ADMISSION


ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR
The Entrance Examination for admission to first year of the following courses offered at the Institutions affiliated to GBTU, Lucknow and MTU, Noida including other mentioned universities situated in territory of Uttar Pradesh for the academic year 2012-2013 shall be conducted by Gautam Buddh Technical University, Lucknow.
(i) 4 year B. Tech./B.Tech. (Ag. Engg.) Course
(ii) 4 year B.Pharm. Course
(iii) 5 year B.Arch. Course
(iv) 4 year BHMCT Course
(v) 4 year BFAD Course


DIRECT ADMISSION (LATERAL ENTRY) TO SECOND YEAR (FOR DIPLOMA HOLDERS & B.SC. GRADUATES)

(i)The eligible candidates (Refer clause 3.3) seeking direct admission to second year of B.Tech. (for
engineering diploma holders and B.Sc. graduates) or B.Pharm. (only for pharmacy diploma holders)
in institutions affiliated to GBTU, Lucknow and MTU, Noida are required to submit the application
forms to Registrar, Gautam Buddh Technical University, Lucknow by the last date. Such candidates
are also required to appear in the specified paper of entrance examination.

(ii)Such seats are limited to a maximum of 20% in addition to the sanctioned intake in institutions/
colleges for different courses at first year level. However, students belonging to B.Sc. stream shall
be considered only after filling the seats in this category with students of Diploma stream.

(iii) Direct admission to second year shall not be made in B.Arch./BHMCT/BFAD/MBA/MCA Courses.

SCORING AND NEGATIVE MARKING
(i) Every objective type question would carry four marks for each correct answer. More than one answers indicated against the question will be deemed as incorrect answer.
(ii) There will be no negative marking. However, a record of incorrect answers given by a candidate will be kept separately.
(iii) All objective type questions are required to be answered on specially designed OMR answer sheets against the respective question number.
(iv) Answers are to be marked using ball point pen (Black / Blue) only. For the purpose of evaluation, the details filled in by the candidate in the OMR answer sheet will be accepted as final.

DECLARATION OF RESULT

The results of UPSEE-2012 alongwith answer keys will be declared on or before 30th May, 2012.  
Based on performance of the candidates in UPSEE-2012, separate merit lists will be prepared for each course. Merit position, score-card with total marks and marks obtained in each subject shall be available on website after the declaration of the result.

CATEGORY DEFINITIONS
Code:  UPGE
Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution located in the State of  Uttar Pradesh and who do not claim for any reserved category are eligible for admission to all the courses at all the institutions against available General (OPEN) seats (No certificate required).

Codes: UPSC / UPST / UPBC 
Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution located in State of U.P.; and are
domicile of U.P.; and belong to Schedule Caste (SC) of U.P. / Schedule Tribe (ST) of U.P. / Other Backward

Code: UPGD
Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution located outside U.P.;  and whose parents are domicile of U.P.; and who have not claimed for any reserved category, are  also eligible for admission to courses offered at all institutions under General (OPEN) category. Such candidate has to produce the domicile certificate of his/her parents (Father OR Mother only) at the time of counselling (certificate no. 3).

  • Admit card will be sent by post (Ordinary Post) and available online to every candidate.
  • A nodal centre (CLICK HERE to see nodal cetre) in each city of examination shall be established to issue Duplicate Admit Cardsupto April 21, 2012 from 10 AM to 5 PM, but not on the dates of examination.
  • To get duplicate admit card, the candidate should contact the nodal centre situated in the city of examination which he/she has opted as first choice. Such candidate should carry the following to the nodal centre:
(i) Two passport size photographs (Black & White) similar to that pasted on the application form.
(ii) Rs. 25.00 as Fee for duplicate admit card.
(iii) The OMR application form number / Online Application’s Reference Number.
(iv) Proof of having submitted the application form.
  • If any candidate is unable to receive or download his/her admit card, he/she should contact the helpline or send an email as indicated on the website latest by 18th April, 2012.
  • A plea that a candidate failed to receive the information for appearing at the Examination will not be accepted as a ground for the refund of fee or any other redressal. UPSEE-2012 may withdraw the permission to appear in UPSEE-2012 granted by mistake to a candidate who is not eligible to appear at the UPSEE-2012 even if an Admit Card has been issued and produced by the candidate before the concerned Centre Superintendent at the Examination Centre.
  • In case of any reported correction, the final corrected admit card will have to be downloaded from website www.upsee.nic.in / www.uptu.ac.in / www.mtu.ac.in before the examination date.
  • Since successful candidates are required to produce the Admit Card at the time of counselling and admission, it should be carefully preserved until the admission process is completed.

Linear differential equations of nth order with constant coefficients, Complementary functions and particular integrals, Simultaneous linear differential equations, Solution of second order differential equation by changing dependent and independent variables, Method of variation of parameters, Applications to engineering problems (without derivation).

Unit-II
Series Solution and Special Functions
Series solution of ordinary differential equations of 2nd order with variable coefficients (Frobenius Method),
Bessel and Legendre equations and their series solutions, Properties of Bessel functions and Legendre polynomials.

Unit-III
Laplace Transform
