Supreme Court has passed an order that there will be no reservation for management seats in technical colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Previously, this quota was about 15% of the total seats and there was 5% reservation for NRI students.
GBTU official, said, "There is technically no management quota. We had 15% reservation for NRI students, but since the admission of such students is very rare, the university would admit students on those seats through the management quota."
The organiser of the UPSEE, Gautam Buddh Technical University, said that the admission for the NRI candidates will commence from the month of May for all the first year courses, except MBA and MCA. But to implement this all the technical colleges require green signal from the All India Technical Education[A2] Council of India.
